__ Up until now, the necessary training was not
available in Western Canada, but Douglas College,
plans to offer the first ever complete Property and
Building Management Program in B.C.

The program will start this January and will
cover such vital and important topics as real estate
finance, Management, the law governing property and
the function and maintenance of building structures.

__The program will offer courses leading to a
Certificate or Citation for people in the industry and
a Diploma for people new to the industry.

The orientation of the program will be in the
area of the commercial buildings and residential complexes.
In addition, the program will also serve managers
responsible for apartment buildings, private residences
and shopping centres. It will recognize experience

in the field and where lacking will attempt to develop
it within the course content.

KINDERGARTEN .

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I am
requesting interested faculty members make application
to serve on a Kindergarten Curriculum Committee.

The purpose of this committee will be to review the
existing Kindergarten curriculum, considering the results
and recommendations of the 1980 Kindergarten Needs
Assessment, and to determine what changes, if necessary,
are required in the existing cyrriculum. This committee
may, then,be involved in designing curriculum in this
area.

Successful candidates may serve for a period of two to
three years. It is anticipated that the committee will
sit nine or ten times during the year, usually for two-
day meetings, with the first meeting scheduled for
January 1981. It would be appreciated, therefore, if
we could receive the applications not later than Friday,
December 5,1980.

A brief curriculum vitae should accompany each application.
Appointments to the committee will be made by the Ministry.
