_|Nove Well, winter is now officially marching on... so it must be time for that lion/ lamb thing again, not to mention that green beer thing on the 17th, and that Easter bunny thing hopping in at the tail- end of the month. With so much to keep track of, no wonder the INside team is distracted . . . so let’s just all hang in there until spring! Ciao, Christine After an eclectic College career that took her from the Communications & Marketing Office to Building Services to the Alumni Association, the multi- talented Christine Unterthiner has decided to strike out on her own. Starting this month, she’s leaving our midst to devote herself full-time to her own partnership — Haffenden & Unterthiner —- which coordinates a variety of graphic design and commercial print projects. Welcome back Lance You may have heard a basso profundo “Good morning, Douglas College” lately on switchboard as former BSW Lance Hurst continues his comeback around campus. After extensive rehab following a serious car accident, he’s started re-entry on switchboard and in the mailroom. Nice to see (and hear) you back, Lance! Félicitations, felicidades, Herzlichen Gliickwunsch On February 10, Modern Languages Instructor Ulrike Ebeling and partner welcomed the birth of a baby boy. Congratulations to all! Glen’s getting better Glen James of the Centre for Educational Technology hit the big five-O last month. Strangely, all attempts by co-workers to photograph, video or tape-record Glen’s enjoyment of the momentous occasion mysteriously failed, so you’ ll just have to take our word for it. Linda’s the lucky one The winner of January’s 60/40 draw is Linda Valecourt of the Bookstore. Linda receives $802.80 while student financial aid increases by $535.20. To get involved with future 60/40 payroll draws, call Rose or Alana at the Foundation office, local 5360. Seeing spots (not) Statistics from the measles vaccination clinics held last month are rolling in. Pat Thomasson of the Health and Safety Committee reports that over a two-day period more than 1,500 vaccinations were completed at the New Westminster Campus alone. Ready, set, stretch Yvonne Mostert at the David Lam Campus reports that 21 eager walkers, joggers and runners have signed up for the Douglas College Sun Run team. By now, all of them should be busy huffing and puffing in preparation for the April 20 event. Staff changes Trish Martin is the new Accounts Receivable Cashier-Clerk for the Finance Department in New Westminster, while Rita McIlwaine steps in as new Program Assistant for the SEA Program at Centre 2000, David Lam Campus. Physical Education Instructor Robin Ryan celebrated his 65th birthday last month. Attributing his good health to a diet of coffee and cake, Robin is now happily planning for an active retirement.
