EMPLOYMENT = ance DOUGLAS COLLEGE OPPORTUNITY | ARCHIVES EAST KOOTENAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (PRINCIPAL) The Position The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to the Board for the supervision and direction of the instructional, management and support staff of the College and in so doing must provide the general leadership and assume the general accountability for the planning and development of the personnel, programs and facilities required for successful operation. Qualifications The successful candidate must clearly show an ability to meet and communicate readily with the public and in particular those representing the trade and industrial sectors of the College region. Business or industrial experience would therefore be a definite asset. The candidate must also have a proven record of senior management accomplishments and a genuine interest in continuing and developing a team management approach within the College. Formal training in management, particularly educational management, would be highly desirable, as would experience in vocational education. Experience in labour relations would be a decided asset. A minimum of a Masters Degree from a recognized university is required.
