INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / March 31, 1992 New staff profile Taeko Berwick has the best of two cultures. A new Program Assistant in International Education here at Douglas College, the native of Japan came to Van- couver with her family for the third time a year ago. Before that, they lived in Kobe, Japan, for nine years, and before that, they spent five years in Van- couver and Michigan. “I miss things in Japan, but when I’m there | miss things in Canada,” she laughs. She was in the process of finishing a master’s de- gree in English language studies at the Kobe City University of Foreign Studies when her husband got an offer to teach language education at UBC last spring. She’d like to finish her master’s, but that would mean going back to Kobe for a year. “I don’t know when I'll finish it,” she says. “It would be hard to be away from my family.” Her children are Yuri, 12, and Benjamin, 10. She already has a BA in English language studies, and a degree in horticulture. «a Taeko Berwick, International Education Program Assistant Events Calendar Theatre « David For Queen Apr 3, 4, 7, 8,9, 10&11 at 8 pm Sunday matinee Apr 5 at 2 pm Call 5488 for information.
