She has extensive experience in employee recruitment and placement, and personnel management. Laurel brings to the college the type of expertise needed al this point to help get the Co-op Program "off the ground". |t might be appropriate at this time to briefly reiterate the primary responsi- bilities of the placement officers. (continued) for students in the Co-op Program; - act as a liaison between the college and the community; - provide assistance, as required, to develop educational objectives and evaluate each Co-op placement. We are currently in the process of setting up work placements for a handful of Business students as part of a pilot Co-op project, to commence in January, 1986. We hope to gain some experience in the Co-op field, and "work out some of the bugs" in our operation, in preparation tor the first major thrust of plecements which will occur during the period May to August, 1986. We are working on a new program information pamphlet and advertising poster, and will be contacting faculty members in the new year to arrange classroom visits to inform students about the Co-op Program. Students will be encouraged to apply well ahead of the May work term commencement date. Application forms are now available in the Co-op Office, located in the Counselling Centre.
