The latest Foundation 60/40 lottery jack- pot was won by Gloria Kummerfield of Psychiatric Nursing. Second time win- ner Gloria is $285.60 ahead. Z&NE The Big Day... Upcoming nuptial events to announce are Leah Ponting of the Registrar's Office tying the knot with her beau, Scott Steel on August 7th, and Bruce Livingstone of the PIO taking vows with Rhonda Emmerich on July 31st. New Digs... The Facilities Department has renovated their offices. In particular, Doreen Kreschuk of Site Services can now be reached in newly constructed Room 4800G. Meanwhile, Devona Davies and Connie Frick of Purchasing have ex- panded their offices in Room 4840. Setting the PACE... Bill Day has received an award from the Pacific Association for Continuing Educa- tion for "Outstanding Contribution to Adult Education”. Bill wrote and edited the publication: Continuing Education in the Colleges and Institutes of British Columbia - 1992 and Beyond during his educational leave at UBC. Deserved recognition... Chris Johnson of CP & S has recently received an Award of Merit from the B.C. Soccer Association. Congratulations Chris! Remember the "I hate math" controversy... Producers of Talking Barbie took a lot of flack for their doll that knocked math and science. Well, in addition to sunning and surfing this summer, Barbie is now doing chemistry in the Chemistry lab (room 3730). Jean Allan’s farcical display was used during her recent work- shop for the John Robson Elementary School staff. PD Day Prize welcomed... Ann Fenton took her PD Day prize trip to Victoria recently. Travelling on the luxurious and speedy Royal Sealink, Ann arrived in sunny Victoria and checked in at the Empress Hotel. But forget abou the afternoon tea, Ann was off to sink a few pints at the Charles Dickens Pub. And the morning after, she enjoyed a royal breakfast spread back at the hotel. A well deserved break for a hard worker. & PASSING THE BOOK! Cathy Cookson handed over the last of her work to Phyllis Mitchell in Community Programs and Services on June 25.
