classes were convened, and perhaps 20% of the student body was in
attendance.

As of Monday, November 14, the College was in full operation.
Negotiations continue with the Douglas/Kwantlen Faculty Association

regarding the Collective Agreement.

Internal Matters - General

 

Backstage '83, the Provincial Theatre Conference, was cancelled last
week, The current climate was such that the organizers of the
Conference felt it was appropriate to reschedule it for the early
Spring. My understanding is that it will be held in March.

I would like to draw to the attention of the Board, the Scholarship
Concert that is being held in the Douglas College Theatre featuring
Robert Silverman, pianist, on November 22nd. Mr. Silverman is inter-
nationally known, and the College is grateful for his consenting to
play. Proceeds of the concert will go to music scholarships.
