MAD HATTER 6 Gordon Gilgan has been named Administrator responsible. The Committee is to report back in September. Administrative Management Diploma Bill Day referred to his written report on the subject and commented that at the stage of approval in principle due process was followed. At the implementation stage, that is detailed course outlines, it appears that two course outlines have not yet been approved. Since the program had been approved in principle, administration had the authority and responsiblity to see that it went forward. While it is not the role of the College Education Committee to approve new programs, it has been normal past practise to inform the Committee of such activities, and that will continue. It was agreed that administration would look at developing a method whereby such circumstances can be flagged in the future. Admission Policy Bill Day advised that all Divisions have received and approved the revision to Admission Policy. The Committee approved the revision and recommended it to the Board for approval. Withdrawal of Policy E02.03.03 through E02.03.09 & E02.03.11 Bill Day advised that all Divisions have accepted the widthdrawal of the above policies. The Committee passed a motion to approve withdrawal of the policies, and recommended it to the Board. Student Access to Past Examinations The question was raised as to the possibility of students having access to past examinations to aid in their studies. Following discussion the Committee passed a motion to the effect that administration conduct a feasibility/desirability study to look at: (i) the possibiliy of permitting mandatory student access to examinations (ii) establishing a centre where faculty, who choose to make examinations available, could deposit them. This would be at the discretion of the faculty involved. A report will be brought back to the Committee.
