JOINT JOB EVALUATION COMMITTEE ea
The first meeting of the Douglas College Joint Job Evaluation
Committee took place Monday, October 1, 1979. Members of the Standing
Committee include: Susan Somers and Michael Ruskin-Union; M.H. Morfey,
L.C. Laurie and J.T. Beardsley-Administration. One position currently

vacant is reserved for the B.C.G.E.U.

The meeting was concerned primarily with mechanisms to ensure smooth
and timely operation of the Standing Committee. A form "Request for
Re-Evaluation" was approved and will be printed and made available for use
shortly. The committee will meet bi-monthly on the first Thursday,.ofythe
month. Terms of reference are contained in th ¢ klestive'Agreement under
Letter of Understanding: Job Seclanseticacion U y Artigi@siVFP:01, 31:02
and 31:03.

The next meeting of the Committee will take place Thursday, December
6, 1979 at the New Westminster Campus. Submissions to the Committee should
be completed using the forms which will be available shortly (further notice
will follow). The form with any supporting documents and comments may be
forwarded to the Committee through the members or through the Personnel
Office.

DEVELOPMENT DAY - ADMISSIONS

Please be advised that the Admissions Division will be holding a
Development Day on Friday, 79-11-02. As a result ail campus Admissions
Offices will have only minimal service and staffing for that one day.

TD-3 FORMS

Sometimes (around April 30) there are some of us who wish there
had been more deductions taken off our salary so we wouldn't have to
pay those enormous tax bills. Sometimes, even those people who hopefully
fill out Td-1 forms as single still end up paying - well I have the
answer! Ask for TAXATION FORM TD-3 which allows you to vary the amount
of tax deductions to suit your needs (to increase the amount otherwise
required).

NOMINATIONS TO EXTERNAL TEAM FOR SELF-STUDY

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology will be assembling
a team of "Experts" from various jurisdictions within the post-secondary
system, e.g. Faculty, Staff, Administrators, Students, Board Members,
Ministry Officials, Provincial Council Members, Community Members, Out-
of-Province College Members who will visit Douglas College as part of our
self-study process. ;
