NOTICES . Teacher Training Courses - B.C.I.T. There will be four courses this summer, each lasting 35 hours a week for two weeks. The beginning dates are: June 17th July 8th July 29th August 19th There will be three instructors for each group of 36 students. There will be homework assignments and weekend preparation. Most of this is a very practical course, where the students apply the knowledge to their own subject field. We have not yet received application forms, but this course at B.C.I1.T., which is sponsored by Manpower and the Department of Education, is open to all full-time and part-time Douglas faculty. DA. Porter Instructors' Diploma Programme This programme used to be called the Vocational Instructors' Diploma Programme. It is offered by the Department of Education, but administered by the Centre for Continuing Education at U.B.C. This summer they are offering the following four courses. I.D. 101 - The Public Fducation System I. D.102 - Elements of Instruction EDs 1 103 - The Technology of Instruction I.D.104 - Student Progress. Students must be registered by June 21st. Students who have not already been admitted to the programme must also apply for admittance to the programme by writing Phil McGregor. The dates of the courses are: July 2: to, July 26, 1974. Douglas College will pay 50% or 100% of the fees, which range from $55 to $85 per course. Application should be made through the departmental chairmen to the Dean of Instruction.
