Greetings and salutations Douglas students,
I’m so excited for the DSU’s Welcome Back
pub night this week, aren't you? I love pub
nights, and not just for the cheap BEvERages
and free food either. No sir, what really gets me
going is the opportunity to commingle with
the Douglas College student body. Hmm, that
sounds kind of dirty doesn’t it? Commingling
with student bodies. But I don’t mean it that
way (well, perhaps, depending on the students’
bodies in question). But really, pub nights pro-
vide a great chance to get your face out of the

books (and into some Pale Ale), meet some

real-live fellow students, and dance the stress of

the long and arduous school week away. So get

out of the library, nerd, and come lift a glass,

er...plastic tumbler, with us.

Before you get too tipsy on affordably
priced libations, however, take a gander at this

require alcoholic assistance to make it look hot.
You want news—we got news. How about a
little Paul Martin/Cat Stevens/Maher Arar
action? You like it like that? I thought so.
We've also got Opinions on all sorts of stuff,
like computers, healthcare, low-carb diets, and
procrastination. And for a good time, call our
A&E section. It’s chockfull of Hiphop stuff,
gamer stuff, and even slam poetry stuff. How’s
that for well-rounded entertainment?

You want more? Wow, you really are insa-
tiable. Well, we've also got a feature on Anais
Nin and one on hangovers, and we've even got
loads of top-notch (or at least mid-notch)

sports coverage. Oh my God, this issue is so

great. Be honest, you don't deserve this good of

a paper do you? That’s OK, I’m sure you'll earn
it in time. Just remember the three keeps: keep
it real, keep on truckin, and keep reading your
Other Press.
