Brother to drummer Matt, Adam told me the band had been together for four years with vocals handled by Silvana Petrozzi, and during the lasttwo yearsScott Holder has been the bassist. ‘It’s (the music) been labelled ‘alternative melodic rock.’ said Adam. Tthinkit’sarockand roll band with an edge, a melodic edge. It'sraw with lots of colour.Oursinger adds a whole dimension when she brings in the vocal melodies.’ Theband has great presence onstage. A real link between theband members and the audience. I asked Adam what it’s like onstage live. ‘The band itself, we havea party onstage. We feed off each other musically. If somebody has never ‘seen us or heard us before, they get off on our energy first: It’s hard toget into any music the first time you hear it - but the energy is there, so the energy takes the audience into the music.’ When I asked Adam what the bands next project was he told me they were going into the Blue Wave Studios torecorda new demo. ‘Basically, weputoutmusic welikeand hopetheaudience likes it too. Big Bottom Swings’ music is available at Odyssey Imports, or you can pick it up at their gigs, (which I recommend that you check out.) ‘Our goal is that: by the end of the year, to haveenough quality tracks to compile ona CD.’ The next project for Big Bottom Swing after the demo, is Music West, a festival presented by Socan featuring their live acts.
