Benefits information - Pharmacare B.c. Pharmacare is the provincial agency to which BC residents sub- mit their prescription drug receipts for an 80% reimburse- ment. March 31, 1992, marks the cut-off date for submission of any eligible 1991 prescription receipts. The 1991 calendar year deduct- ible under Pharmacare is $375 per family. To receive the 80% reim- bursement in excess of the $375, you submit all of your 1991 receipts to the Plan before March 31. The Great West Life Extended Health policy contains a provision which coordinates the payment of prescription drugs with Phar- macare. The Great West Life plan will pay up to 80% of the Phar- macare deductible ($375) for any eligible expenses, less any unused portion of the Great West Life $25 calendar year deductible. Please note that Great West Life will accept photocopies of drug receipts only, in order that you may submit the originals to Phar- macare. Due to Pharmacare’s March 31 deadline, the Great West Life’s normal claim payment turn- around time may be delayed a few extra days.
