Many faculty members are becoming bored or disenchanged with their teaching and research, their institutional responsibilities, and even their discipline. They seek out new ways of relating to their colleagues, to their students and to worlds of thought and action. This seminar addresses these concerns through focusing on the role of faculty member as innovator, observer, learner and one "who does and cares". Li THE SEMINAR STRUCTURE Three sessions of three hours duration will be offered each day during this intensive five day program. Each session will address one of the four faculty roles. Participants will be encouraged to participate in at least two of the three sessions, as well as in various "extra-curricular" events. FACULTY MEMBER AS INNOVATOR | The theme of innovation will be addressed through the review of theories, models and research on the diffusion of innovation, processes of change in collegiate settings, and the nature and dynamics of collegiate cultures. Case studies and simulations will provide additional experiential input. Steps in an organization consultation process will be described and rehearsed, with a focus on the unique properties of collegiate organizations. KRKEKKKKEKKK The College Faculty Professional Development Committee is able to sponsor a faculty member to attend this seminar.
