STRIKE UP THE BANDS

An evening of music will be presented on Thursday, November 7 when
Douglas College and Vancouver Community College "Strike Up the
Bands".

Presenting some of the most well known Broadway show tunes, si
classical selections and marches from around the work, the Concert ae
Band and Wind Ensemble will perform in the Douglas College DOUGLAS COLLEGE
Performance Theatre. ARCHIV

 

 

Blair Fisher, music director, says feature pieces from his Concert Band
include "The Liberty Bell" by John Phillip Sousa, selections from "Oliver"
by George Gershwin and a medley of Henry Mancini's greatest hits.

The VCC Wind Ensemble will be there to present some lesser known pieces
including those from composers Percy Grainger and Vincent Persichetti.

There is no admission charge for this special evening of music taking
place at Douglas College.
