For mor information, call Robert or Wendy at 604-777- 6124. * A cameraman from ARTV (the French digital arts channel) recorded part of the Noon at New West concert on January 8 by the Vancouver world music group JOU TOU, which will be broadcast next month. * The Library’s Robin Ripley is showing his work at the Richmond Art Gallery (770 Minoru Gate, 604-231-6457) from January 22 to February 26. Robin uses sewing materials to explore relationships between art and life, transforming those things into narratives about the world of the viewer. The show is called EXPLORE, hope you can make it! ~ * Allen Billy, on leave from the biology department, and his wife Lesley are pleased to announce the birth of Alana Rose Bernadette at 1:18 pm, Monday, November 10. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and has a calm and pleasant temperament. She has been sleeping through most of each evening, since day one, which has been greatly appreciated by her parents. * Laura McDonald, Psychiatric Nursing office assistant for the last five years, has taken the position of Assessment Coordinator for the Assessment Centre at the David Lam Campus. She will divide her time between the David Lam and the New Westminster campuses. The Psych Nursing faculty will miss her terribly and have already started the grieving process, but send Laura their warmest wishes. The Assessment Centre is very fortunate to be getting such a wonderful individual. McDonald replaces Ann Kim, who has moved to Student Development. * Silvia Wilson is back from her parental leave and her daughter Ariana is now eight months old (how time flies!). Silvia has taken on the role of acting Dean of Health Sciences until March 1, filling in for Joy Holmwood, who is on educational leave. * In the Employee Relations Department, Carolyn Parry, Manager Pension and Benefits, has taken early retirement effective December 31, 2003.
