Coquitlam Town Centre Campus One Step Plans to build the Coquitlam Town Centre Campus of Douglas College have won support in prin- ciple from the provincial government. A letter sent recently to Bill Day, college president, by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Job Training, says funds to purchase land for the Coquitlam site are ten- tatively earmarked in the Ministry’s 1990-91 Capital Plan. The letter, sent by Deputy Minis- try Gary Mullins, states the Ministry “supports in principle the purchase of land and development of a new Douglas College campus north of the Lougheed Highway.” However, Mullins also suggests the College should work out a deal with the City of Coquitlam to estab- lish a mutally acceptable purchase price for land for the new campus.
