Briefly Check it out The new Douglas College web site is up and running at www.douglas.be.ca. An internal and external review will continue until the end of September; your feedback is welcomed. Hole-in-one Sharon Conboy, Accounting, scored an authentic hole-in-one earlier this summer. The shot occured July 20 at the eighth hole at Hackers Haven in Maple Ridge. Sharon has been playing —get this— sess than six months, and apparently did not jump for joy until after the realization that a hole-in-one was something great. Congratulations, Sharon. Personnel Business Willda Noniewicz is currently on leave and would be happy to hear from you. Send sealed cards or letters to Personnel and Mary Lou will make sure Willda receives them. ° Meanwhile, Willda’s substitute, Kathy Desjardins (née Potter), was married to Michael Desjardins on August 22. Congratulations to the new couple. Towser's career update Towser, the pure-bred Golden Retriever who was profiled in February 98’s INside, has had a setback in his career development. Towser had been in training to become a service dog for disabled people, but the discovery of hip dysplasia has forced the young recruit into early retirement, says Lynn Currie, Disabled Student Services Facilitator at David Lam Campus. The news is not all bad: Lynn gets to keep the puppy. Lynn also informs us that there are several Chocolate Labs up for supervision. There is a catch, however. You must give them back after 15 months. For more information, call PADS at 527-0556. Here's one you can keep Susan Greffard is looking for a new home for “Sooty,” her eight-year old, fluffy, neutered, black and white cat. Toys, litter box and other kitty goodies included. Susan can be reached at 5253 (voicemail 8363) or Groupwise at grefards. Entitled "Clone 2000," this NBC production stars Elizabeth Perkins, Bradiey Whitford and Alan Rosenberg. The story concerns a mother who realizes the fertility clinic she attended prior to the birth of her child had a sinister agenda: the operators of the clinic secretly used the boy's genetic material to create clones for the use of spare body parts.
