INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / JANUARY 22, 1991 aay, EES) = Professional Awards Bourses de I'ACDI a lintention des professionnels CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CIDA) 1991 PROFESSIONAL AWARDS The Program The CIDA Professional Awards are directed to mid-career Canadians who wish to gain overseas experience. Awardees promote Canada’s role in development by initiating work-study projects or short-term work assignments in developing _ countries. The Projects All applicants develop and design their own projects; many are undertaken with the support of the applicant’s employer. All projects must fulfill some practical, focussed need within the host country and demonstrate solid host country support. Projects are implemented over a two to six month period and receive funding of up to $25,000.00. Preferred fields of specialization include a broad range of activities which fall under three main classifications: Natural Resources/ Infrastructure; Social Development/Population; or Administration/Industrial Services. The Applicants The CIDA Professional Awards Program encourages applications from those professionals who have little overseas experience and are interested in “internationalizing" their career. Likewise, applicants who already have overseas experience are encouraged to develop projects which would bring them to areas not yet visited, maximizing the potential for personal growth and new experiences.
