Kathy Wardrop is the new Public Information Office Assistant, replacing Christine Unterthiner on a temporary basis. Florence Korstrom is filling the new, temporary Student Placement Clerk position in Student Services. New chemistry... Shauna Blair is the new Chemistry Technician, replacing Jean Allen. Jean is planning on keeping busy as the WHMIS coordinator at the College, training elementary school teachers how to teach science, designing WHMIS programs for other colleges and businesses, and designing specialized Health and Safety posters for companies throughout North America. Hungarian exchange... Douglas College is hosting two marketing students and a senior administrator from the College of Commerce, Tourism and Catering in Budapest over the next three months. Nancy Oike (OADM) is on Education Leave until the end of December finishing her Master’s degree in Education at UBC. Speaking of grandma’s... Darlene Kress became a grandmother for the second time this summer. Grandson Dylan Andrew was born June 9. Anna’s amazing llamas... Anna Helewka (Psych Nursing) is very proud of her babies these days. On September 15, she became a “‘Ilama- mom” again with the birth of Smokey. Senor Tiki, her llama who was born just last year, has already won two first prizes, one second prize and was named Reserve Grand Champion at the Kamloops Llama Show. a2 Shirt Winners Congratulations to the winners of the Employees Orientation Draw on September 1.
